I am a spoken dialogue systems researcher and the Founder of Anticipant Speech, Inc.
The central theme of my work is to enable dialogue systems to respond to the inevitable uncertainties of communication in a way that is more flexible, more robust, and more human-like.
I have been particularly interested in incremental language processing, improving how systems respond to uncertainty, and scaling up systems into larger conversational domains.
Previously I was a Research Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Southern California.
